Ha Dao is an artist working with photography and moving image based in Hanoi. Inspired by the quiet drama of everyday life, she explores how personal fates intersect with larger histories, reflecting on the notion of distance with the camera as both witness and intermediary.
Her works have been showcased at Manzi Art Space (Vietnam), Xie Zilong Museum (China), Angkor Photo Festival (Cambodia), and Objectifs (Singapore) and featured in the British Journal of Photography, Photoworks, Trans Asia Photography Journal, among others. She is the recipient of several awards, including the Seed Award by the Prince Claus Fund, the 38th Higashikawa Award, and the Dogma Prize. Ha has co-run Matca, an independent initiative dedicated to opening conversations around photography in Vietnam, since 2017.
